Our mission extends beyond matchday collections.
We are committed to raising awareness of food poverty and advocating for systemic change.
Through various campaigns, we aim to demonstrate that football fans can be a powerful force for positive change.
Our regular matchday collections are a cornerstone of our efforts. Since our group's inception, we have raised over £20,000.
Supporters can donate food and cash at collection points located at the entrance to the FanZone and on Portman Road, opposite Planet Blue.
These collections support FIND (Families in Need), a local charity providing essential services to individuals and families facing food insecurity in Suffolk.
Hunger is a political choice. We advocate for the Right to Food to be recognised in UK law. Through collaboration with our partner groups across the country, the national campaign aims to address the systemic causes of food poverty and ensure that access to food is a fundamental human right.
As the only Ipswich Town supporters’ group affiliated with the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), we are proud to continue engaging with the democratic processes and campaigns that give fans a voice.
On 2nd November 2024, we proudly stood alongside Leicester City supporters at Portman Road in a united show of solidarity with the FSA’s ‘Stop Exploiting Loyalty’ campaign.
Before kick-off, fans from both clubs came together to raise the campaign flag, sending a clear message that supporters should not be taken for granted. Together, we highlighted the growing frustration around rising ticket prices, scheduling issues, and the commercial pressures threatening the matchday experience.
Loyalty should never be exploited, and together, we made our voices heard
In April 2025, volunteers James Rose and Elijah Aldridge embarked on a 300-mile cycle from Portman Road to Düsseldorf to raise funds and awareness for foodbanks.
Departing immediately after the Arsenal fixture on April 20th, they journeyed to attend Fortuna Düsseldorf's home match against Nürnberg on April 26th.
The campaign highlighted the solidarity between Ipswich Town and Fortuna Düsseldorf fans, demonstrating that hunger doesn't wear club colours and does not stop at borders. Funds raised were split between FIND and Tafel Düsseldorf, supporting foodbanks in both cities, as well as the Ipswich Town Foundation and ourselves.
In December 2023, ahead of the highly anticipated match between Ipswich Town and Norwich City, our group launched a Derby Day campaign under the banner of "Hunger Doesn't Wear Club Colours."
The campaign encouraged Ipswich fans to donate to Norwich foodbanks and vice versa, promoting solidarity and community spirit beyond the rivalry.
For the campaign, we launched specific fundraising appeals encouraging Ipswich fans to donate to the Norwich Foodbank and Norwich fans to donate to the Ipswich foodbank FIND.
The campaign raised over £5000 between Norwich and Ipswich fans, surpassing our initial target. This success not only provided vital resources for FIND and the Norwich Foodbank but also demonstrated the collective impact of fans working together to address food poverty in East Anglia.
The Derby Day campaign stands as a testament to the strength of community and the belief that football can be a force for good. It exemplifies how supporters can set aside club allegiances to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
