Ipswich Town Fans Supporting Foodbanks is a fan-led initiative committed to combating food poverty and advocating for the Right to Food. We are part of a nationwide movement of football supporters who believe that hunger doesn't wear club colours. Inspired by the original Fans Supporting Foodbanks initiative launched by Liverpool and Everton fans in 2015, our group uses the power of football fans to organise community action.
Since our inception in 2023, we've been working closely with fans to organise matchday food collections, fundraising events and awareness campaigns. All proceeds support our local foodbank partner, FIND (Families in Need), which provides essential services to individuals and families facing food insecurity in Suffolk.
Our mission extends beyond charity, we are campaigning for systemic change. We believe that access to food is a fundamental human right and are advocating for the Right to Food to be enshrined in UK law. Through our actions and partnerships, we aim to demonstrate that football fans can be a powerful force for social good.
Whether it's a child donating their pocket money or away fans contributing from across the country, every gesture makes a real difference. Together, we are showing that football can be a force for good, and that hunger has no place in our communities.
We work directly with FIND (Families in Need), a local charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across Suffolk. FIND provides essential food parcels, practical assistance and guidance to those who need it most, helping to ensure that nobody in the community goes hungry.
All donations collected at our matchday points, both physical items and cash contributions, go directly to FIND. By partnering with them, we are able to make a tangible impact in our local area, supporting families, children, and vulnerable adults who rely on their services.
Working with FIND allows us to turn fan support into real-world action, showing that football communities can play an important role in building a fairer, hunger-free society.
